Pathways to Benin Residence and Citizenship

Benin

Benin’s covered nationality-recognition route is for adults with accepted evidence of descent from people deported from sub-Saharan Africa during the slave trade. It has nationality, documentary, and identification requirements. Applicants abroad first receive an eligibility certificate and must complete formalities in Benin before final recognition; this is not citizenship by investment.

The West Africa guide compares the covered options and links to their requirements.
