Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba together form the Caribbean Netherlands. Foreign nationals planning to work or stay for more than three months generally need a local residence permit. For a named job, the employer-backed work and residence route involves a work permit as well as residence permission, with local recruitment rules and some occupation-specific exceptions. Entry and MVV requirements vary by nationality.
People already resident on qualifying fixed-term permits for five continuous years may explore permanent residence. It requires a non-temporary residence purpose and financial evidence; readmission is a separate ground. These permits do not themselves grant Dutch citizenship or European Netherlands residence.
