Sint Maarten (Dutch part)
Sint Maarten has its own immigration application process. A worker with a specific local employer may explore the employee residence permit. Someone receiving a documented pension may explore the pensioner residence permit. These are different categories with different records; an interest in working or retiring does not itself establish eligibility.
For a person already living legally in Sint Maarten, the government publishes a permanent-residence application requiring proof of five uninterrupted years and a valid permit. Dutch citizenship or residence rights in the European Netherlands do not follow automatically from a Sint Maarten permit. See the government's current residence checklists.
