Summary
This UAE Golden Visa route is for exceptional talent and certain specialist categories. It is a 10-year residence route, but it is not meant for every well-paid professional.
The key point is that most categories need a specific approval, recommendation, or very exact evidence. A strong CV helps, but it is usually not enough by itself. ICP is the UAE's federal identity and residence authority; GDRFA is Dubai's residence authority.
Eligibility
You may qualify if you fit one of the official categories below:
Doctors
- You have the approval letter to practise medicine from the competent UAE health authority.
Scientists
- You have a recommendation from the UAE Council for Scientists, or you hold a recognised scientific excellence award.
Inventors
- You have a Ministry of Economy recommendation showing that your patent adds value to the UAE economy.
Creatives and cultural talent
- You have approval or recommendation from the Ministry of Culture or the relevant local cultural authority.
Athletes
- You have a recommendation from the recognised sports authority or sports council.
Executive directors
- You have a bachelor's degree.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the same executive role.
- You have a valid work contract.
- Your monthly salary is at least AED 50,000.
PhD holders and priority specialists
- You have the required attested degree in an eligible field.
- You have the supporting contract or category documents the UAE asks for.
What this pathway does not cover well
- General senior professionals who do not fit one of the official categories.
- Entrepreneurs or public-investment cases that belong to different Golden Visa tracks.
Duration, Renewal, and Long-Term Path
- Duration: 10-year residence visa.
- Renewal: Renewable if the talent or specialist category remains qualifying.
What This Route Allows
If approved, this route gives you a 10-year UAE Golden Visa residence tied to the qualifying talent or specialist category. Renewal or longer-term path: Renewable if that category remains qualifying. Key limit: The file must match a listed category and include the required approval or recommendation letter; executive-director files also need degree, same-role experience, work-contract, and AED 50,000 monthly salary evidence.
What This Route Is Not
This is not a guarantee of approval. Immigration authorities can still review documents, admissibility, background, funds, and whether the facts match the pathway rules.
Next Steps
- Pick the exact category that fits you best. Do not mix several weak cases together.
- Get the approval or recommendation letter first if your category needs one.
- Attest degrees and other core documents before filing.
- Use ICP or GDRFA for the residence application once the category evidence is ready.
- If you do not yet have the category-specific approval, treat this route as a future target rather than a current option.
