Summary
Students enrolled at an eligible institution can apply to live in the Republic of the Congo for their studies, with enrollment or attendance records and proof of funding for the course and stay. Admission should be followed by the correct entry and resident-card formalities; it is not itself permission to remain. This page covers Congo-Brazzaville.
The card application is due within fifteen days of entry and includes the required personal, police, vaccination and housing records. A separate return-home deposit may also be required. Student permission does not establish unrestricted work rights or promise a graduate work route.
Eligibility
Provide an enrollment or attendance certificate from the institution and proof that you can support your studies and stay. This is the Republic of the Congo, also called Congo-Brazzaville.
Prepare your passport and proof of lawful entry, police and vaccination records, consular-registration documents, and photos. If you will stay with a host, provide the required housing evidence.
Include any required repatriation deposit: money held to cover a return journey if needed. This is separate from the application fee.

What This Route Allows
You can stay for the approved studies and card period. An ordinary residence card generally lasts one year; renew while your studies remain authorized and follow the dates on the issued card.
What This Route Is Not
Admission alone does not give you residence permission. Student residence does not establish unrestricted work rights or guarantee a graduate work visa, permanent residence, or citizenship.
Next Steps
- Confirm your place and ask the institution for enrollment records and immigration instructions.
- Gather financial-support and personal documents, housing evidence if hosted, and any deposit records.
- Apply to Immigration within 15 days of entry and renew before the card expires.
