Summary

Citizens of Barbados, Belize, or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can live and work in Dominica indefinitely under CARICOM full free movement. Entry checks and local registration still apply. A job offer, approved skills category, and CARICOM Skills Certificate are not required. Qualifying family members need relationship evidence and their own entry documentation; this check evaluates the principal citizen’s route.

You can arrive with savings and later take a local job, subject to the usual employment and professional rules. Your right to stay comes from your qualifying citizenship, so it does not depend on keeping a particular job or remote income.

Citizenship to recorded status
  1. Qualifying passport Establish citizenship of Barbados, Belize, or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
  2. Prepare the household Gather support evidence and any accompanying-family records.
  3. Confirm entry and registration Record the status and arrange work, business, or service registrations.

Residence in a participating country does not confer the same citizenship-based entitlement.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

Hold citizenship of one of the three countries above and prepare a valid passport establishing it. Residence in one of those countries does not confer the same entitlement, and a citizenship application must have resulted in citizenship before it can support this route. The arrangement is open across ages and does not require a particular education or occupation.

Plan how you will support yourself and any accompanying family. Authorities retain the regional power to refuse entry or remove someone on specified serious public-interest grounds or because they are likely to become a charge on public funds. The official full-movement guidance does not give a fixed minimum salary, pension, or savings balance.

Ask the Immigration Department or Dominica's national CSME focal point how to record indefinite stay and complete registration. Dominica's government reported registrations under this arrangement in February 2026, so residents should obtain the current procedure rather than assume that no residence permit means no administrative steps.

What This Route Allows

The arrangement supports indefinite residence and work without separate work or residence permits. Starting a business or entering a regulated profession still requires the relevant local approvals.

Qualifying relatives may accompany the citizen, subject to relationship, dependency, and entry documentation. Confirm their individual registration and work position before making plans around a spouse's income. Covered health and school access does not remove the need for enrollment, records, or any applicable contribution rules.

What This Route Is Not

It is not Dominican citizenship, an ordinary permanent-residence decision, or a right for every CARICOM national to settle in Dominica. Dominica also participates in the separate OECS movement system; people using that system should check its own nationality and documentation rules.

People without the required citizenship can compare the ordinary residence process and, where appropriate, Work in Nature. Those categories have their own conditions and should not be treated as interchangeable with citizenship-based movement rights.

Next Steps

  1. Establish qualifying citizenship and prepare the passport used for the move.
  2. Confirm the current entry and registration steps with Dominica's immigration authority or national CSME focal point.
  3. Prepare household support and any accompanying relatives' civil, school, and medical records.
  4. Keep proof of your recorded status and arrange the registrations needed for work, business, or services.
