Summary
France has a narrow Talent route for people with established national or international reputation, or people whose work can significantly and sustainably contribute to France.
This is an exceptional-profile route. It is meant for a small group of people with strong evidence in fields such as science, literature, art, intellectual work, education, or sport.
Eligibility
You may be a fit if:
- You are not French or using EU/EEA/Swiss free-movement rights.
- You have national or international reputation in your field, or a project that would significantly contribute to France.
- You are coming to France to work in a covered field.
- You can document your reputation, project, purpose, and planned duration in France.
- You can show enough resources for the stay.
- You can meet the standard identity, residence, and public-order checks.
What This Route Allows
If approved, the route can let you live in France and pursue the professional activity covered by the file. It can cover employed or self-employed work connected to the recognized profile or project.
What This Route Is Not
This is not a general "highly skilled" route. A strong resume is not always enough. The file needs evidence of reputation or a significant France-facing contribution.
Most professionals will be better served by a more ordinary Talent employee, EU Blue Card, researcher, business, or work-permit pathway.
Next Steps
- Decide whether the case is based on reputation, a significant France-facing project, or both.
- Gather awards, press, publications, institutional support, project documents, contracts, or other proof.
- Document the nature, purpose, and duration of the project in France.
- Confirm resources for the stay.
- Apply through the France-Visas or prefecture process that fits your location.
