Summary
Eligible spouses and children can apply to live with family in Türkiye, with the relationship and sponsor's citizenship or residence status determining the available category. Sponsors must meet any applicable prior-residence rule and provide registered housing, household health coverage, sufficient income, and the required family-related criminal-record evidence. Foreign civil records may need authentication and translation.
Permission can last up to three years but cannot extend beyond a foreign sponsor's own permit. The family should plan around that limit and confirm employment permission separately. A change in the relationship or the sponsor's status can affect renewal.

The sponsor must meet the applicable prior-residence requirement, have registered housing and household health coverage, and meet the income requirement. Monthly income must reach at least the minimum wage overall and at least one-third of it per family member, with the required family-related criminal-record evidence.
The family must document the relationship and meet the applicable support, housing, and health-coverage requirements. Marriage and birth records from abroad may need authentication and translation before they can be accepted in Türkiye.
More about this route
The permission remains connected to the sponsor. It can be granted for up to three years but cannot last beyond a foreign sponsor’s own permit. That connection matters when the family’s plans extend beyond the principal resident’s current stay, and it does not replace any separate permission needed for employment.

What This Route Allows
Family residence allows the approved relative to live in Türkiye for up to three years, but cannot outlast a foreign sponsor’s permit. The duration therefore depends on both the family approval and the sponsor’s remaining status.
The permission does not itself grant unrestricted employment rights. A household expecting both adults to work needs to establish the appropriate work permission alongside the family residence arrangements.
What This Route Is Not
The approved family category determines the rights granted. Living with a relative is not itself citizenship, and a later change in the relationship or the sponsor’s status can affect renewal.
Next Steps
The sponsor’s status, residence history, and household size determine the requirements to document. The family needs to show the relationship, registered home, health coverage, and income, including the overall and per-person tests. The proposed permit period also needs to fit the sponsor’s remaining permission, and any employment plan requires a separate work-permission check.
