Work lasting more than six months also needs residence permission unless an exemption applies.
Permanent residence has separate application grounds: seven consecutive years of temporary residence or holding an Alien’s Land-Holding Licence. Neither a license nor a property purchase automatically grants residence or citizenship. Qualifying regional citizens should also check whether separate movement rights apply.
