Summary
Belgium's exceptional-merit citizenship process is reserved for achievements that benefit the country's international influence in science, sport or sociocultural life. An applicant must be at least eighteen or legally emancipated, hold unlimited lawful residence in Belgium and explain why the ordinary nationality-declaration process is virtually impossible to use.
The Chamber of Representatives decides applications individually, without a legal decision deadline. Meeting the entry conditions does not create a right to citizenship. This route is separate from ordinary residence-based declarations and from the provision for judicially recognized stateless residents.

What This Route Allows
Become Belgian if the Chamber grants naturalization and the law is published.
What This Route Is Not
This is not citizenship by investment or an ordinary five-year residence route. The separate provision for judicially recognized stateless residents has different criteria.
Next Steps
Ask the municipality about acceptable achievement evidence, confirm residence status, and prepare the explanation for using exceptional naturalization.
