Summary
If a university or other eligible higher-education institution in Brunei accepts you, you can apply for a Student Pass. Your institution helps arrange the entry permission and the steps needed to confirm your pass after arrival.
A place on a course does not, by itself, give you permission to enter or stay.
Eligibility
You need admission, the institution’s support, and the required identity and funding records.
Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s procedure, for example, asks for an offer letter, passport, health records, insurance, and proof of funds or a scholarship. Ask your own institution which documents and submission arrangements apply to you.
-
Confirm your study place Ask the institution which immigration process applies.
-
Prepare the student documents Include admission, funding, passport, health, and insurance records.
-
Complete your Student Pass Follow the entry and post-arrival instructions, then renew on time.
Your institution’s admission decision and immigration approval are separate.
What This Route Allows
An approved Student Pass lets you stay temporarily for the accepted course. Follow your institution’s instructions for completing the pass after entry and renewing it when needed.
What This Route Is Not
Admission is not a visa. The Student Pass does not establish an unrestricted right to work or guarantee time to look for a job after graduation.
Use the student insurance checklist. The amount required for an employment pass belongs to a different category.
Next Steps
- Confirm your place and ask the institution for its international-student immigration checklist.
- Gather your offer letter, passport, funding or scholarship evidence, health records, and insurance.
- Obtain the required entry approval, complete the Student Pass through the institution, and keep track of renewals.
