Eligibility

What This Pathway Allows

If approved, the residence permit is usually granted for up to 24 months and can be extended for up to 12 more months in certain cases.

After full recognition, Germany allows up to 12 months to look for qualified work. If you find a qualifying job, study place, or training place, you may switch into another residence title without leaving Germany.

What This Pathway Is Not

This is not the same as the Germany Recognition Partnership, where a German employer supports recognition after arrival while you work. This pathway is centered on completing qualification measures or a skills analysis.

Next Steps

  1. Start the German recognition process for your profession.
  2. Obtain the partial-recognition notice or skills-analysis decision.
  3. Register for the required qualification measure or skills analysis.
  4. Prepare German-language proof and living-cost evidence.
  5. Apply for the recognition visa and plan the post-recognition job-search step.
