Summary
Norway's skilled worker permit is for people with higher education, vocational training, or special qualifications who have a qualifying job offer in Norway.
The job normally needs to require skilled qualifications and match the applicant's background. A general job offer is not enough if the work does not require the level of skill Norway is looking for.
Eligibility
- You have a Norwegian job offer
- You have skilled-worker qualifications: higher education, a completed vocational program of at least three years at upper-secondary level, or special qualifications built through substantial experience
- The job is normally full-time; UDI can accept a position of at least 80%
- The job requires skilled qualifications, and your education, training, or experience matches what the role requires
- Pay and working conditions are not worse than what is normal in Norway for that role
- If the occupation is regulated, you have the required Norwegian approval or authorization
- If applying from abroad, the employer can confirm the job offer before you submit the application
