Guyana Employment Visa
At a glance
Guyana’s employment visa is for people with a confirmed job. Your employer must support the application, and you may also need a work permit or other approval.

- Job offer or contract required
- Evidence
- Job documents and personal records
- Checks
- Police and medical documents
Summary
If you have a job in Guyana, an employment visa may let you move there for that work. You need a contract or employment letter, personal documents, and any sponsorship records required from your employer.
Work with your employer to check whether you also need landing approval, a work permit, or a later extension. Permission to enter does not by itself settle every requirement for working there.
-
Get your job documents Obtain a contract or employment letter.
-
Prepare the application Gather your personal records and the employer’s supporting documents.
-
Check all required approvals Confirm any landing approval, work permit, or extension needed.
Check both entry and work requirements before starting your job.
Eligibility
You need a contract or employment letter identifying your job. Looking for work is not enough.
The application portal asks for passport records, a photograph, police clearance, and a medical report. Documents in other languages need English translations. Your employer may need to provide additional sponsorship or work-permit records.
What This Route Allows
The approval lets you enter and stay for the accepted employment. Its conditions, together with any required work permit, determine which work you can do.
Check the dates in the approval: your contract may last longer than your immigration permission. Continuing in the job may require an extension.
What This Route Is Not
This is not unrestricted permission to work for other employers, and it does not give you permanent residence.
Next Steps
- Obtain your employment contract or letter and ask your employer for the required supporting records.
- Prepare your personal documents and translations.
- Apply through the Ministry of Home Affairs portal.
- Confirm all required entry and work approvals with your employer before starting, and check when an extension will be needed.
