An eligible higher-education place can let you apply to live and study in Indonesia. Use the E30B process with your institution’s support and the required personal and financial documents.

Formal higher education at an eligible institution
Visa category
E30B; other study categories have different rules
Institution’s role

Summary

Indonesia’s E30B visa lets a student stay for formal higher education. The institution supports the application for the accepted program. School-level and nonformal courses use other visa categories, so identify the course correctly at the outset. Graduation does not automatically provide permission for an Indonesian job or permanent residence.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

You need admission to formal higher education, institutional support, and the required identity and funding evidence. Ask the institution for the current E30B checklist, including proof of tuition and living support and any sponsorship or guarantee documents.

Do not use the checklist for a language course, other nonformal education, or primary or secondary school in place of the higher-education requirements.

Preparing to study in Indonesia
  1. Confirm the course qualifies Ask the institution whether E30B is the correct category.
  2. Prepare study and funding records Follow the higher-education checklist with the institution’s help.
  3. Complete the visa and ITAS process After approval, follow the stay, reporting, and renewal conditions.

Admission and immigration approval are separate, and the maximum stay is not guaranteed.

What This Route Allows

The approved visa and ITAS, a limited stay permit, let you stay for the accepted course. Current government guidance includes higher-education stays of up to four years, but your approval sets the actual period and conditions.

Follow the institution’s instructions for reporting, renewal, and any changes to your course.

What This Route Is Not

A student permit does not, by itself, allow ordinary local employment. Graduation also does not automatically give you work permission or permanent residence. Arrange the next appropriate permission before your student status ends.

Next Steps

  1. Confirm that the institution and course qualify for E30B.
  2. Prepare admission, sponsorship or guarantee, funding, and personal documents using the current checklist.
  3. Complete the visa and ITAS process, then record the reporting and renewal deadlines.
