Summary

If you have a qualifying job in Jordan, your employer can help arrange the work and residence approvals you need. Work approval and residence are separate steps. If you are applying from abroad, confirm the required entry permission before traveling.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

Your employer must provide a work permit or Ministry of Labour approval to issue or renew one. A company or institution applying for you must also provide its valid occupational license. Your occupation must be one you are allowed to work in.

The Ministry of Interior's work-residence service is for foreign workers in Jordan and applications by people, institutions, or companies operating there. If you are abroad, arrange any required work-entry permission first.

The residence application needs a valid passport and, for renewal, your previous residence record. Medical and identity requirements also apply. Ask the employer who handles each application and what you need before travel or work. Keep your contract and check that the approved occupation matches your job.

Arranging work and residence in Jordan
  1. Check the job and employer Confirm that the employer can arrange the required work approval.
  2. Prepare the documents Agree on the contract and gather qualification, identity, and medical records.
  3. Complete the applications Arrange work and entry approvals, then apply for residence.
  4. Check before starting work Confirm the approved employer, occupation, expiry dates, and renewal rules.

Work approval and residence are separate steps. Complete both as required for your case.

What This Route Allows

With the required approvals, you can live in Jordan and work in the approved job while the permits remain valid. Renewal depends on continued employment and meeting the permit rules. Changing employer or occupation may need a separate application. Family members need their own residence permission and any required work approval.

What This Route Is Not

A bank deposit, visitor entry, or job offer alone does not give you permission to work and live in Jordan. This route does not promise automatic permanent residence.

Next Steps

  1. Ask the employer which work-permit category applies and whether it can arrange approval for your job.
  2. Agree on the contract and collect the qualification, identity, and medical records on the checklist.
  3. Arrange the required work and entry approvals, then complete the residence application.
  4. Before starting work, check the permits' employer, occupation, expiry dates, and renewal rules.
