Summary
If an eligible university or other higher education institution accepts you, you can apply for Kyrgyzstan’s S student visa with the required institutional and official support.
The current visa portal lists a stay of up to 90 days. If your course lasts longer, ask the institution which residence card or other permission you will need to continue studying.
Eligibility
You need confirmed admission and the support documents required for your application. Ask the institution to explain its part in the process before you make travel plans.
Prepare evidence that you can cover tuition and living costs, along with the financial, medical, and identity records on the current checklist. Follow any translation and document-authentication requirements.
-
Secure admission and institutional support Ask the institution for its current visa checklist.
-
Apply for the S student visa Prepare the required identity, funding, and medical records.
-
Arrange permission for a longer course Confirm the next application before the initial stay expires.
An initial student visa does not by itself cover the full length of a degree.
What This Route Allows
The S visa allows a temporary stay for the approved studies and period. You must keep your enrollment and immigration permission current.
For a longer degree, the initial visa and permission to remain for the rest of the course are separate steps. Family members need their own applications and must meet the rules that apply to them.
What This Route Is Not
Do not assume the S visa covers a full academic year: older descriptions of a standard one-year student visa do not match the current portal.
Student status does not give unrestricted access to local jobs or guarantee a period to look for work after graduation. Permanent residence and citizenship have separate requirements.
Next Steps
- Obtain admission and ask the institution for the required support documents and current application checklist.
- Prepare your personal, funding, and medical records and apply for the S visa.
- Before the approved stay ends, arrange the residence card or other continuing permission needed for the rest of your course.
