Saint Kitts and Nevis Permanent Residence
At a glance
If you have lived in Saint Kitts and Nevis for at least seven years and own substantial assets there, you can apply for permanent residence. The Minister, with advice from Cabinet, decides whether your assets are sufficient. The time you have lived there is only one part of the requirement.
- Residence
- At least seven years of residence in Saint Kitts and Nevis
- Local assets
- Document ownership and value of substantial local assets; the law sets no universal purchase-price threshold
Summary
Established residents with substantial local assets can apply to settle permanently in Saint Kitts and Nevis through its residence-based permanent-residence category. Applicants need at least seven years of residence established through immigration records, plus substantial assets in the Federation. Past visits or property ownership alone do not establish the residence period.
The law does not publish a universal purchase price that guarantees sufficient assets. The Minister, advised by Cabinet, evaluates ownership, value and the overall file. This process is separate from retirement residence and citizenship by investment.
Eligibility
At least seven years of residence
Use the immigration record to establish residence, not only past visits or property ownership. Ask Immigration to resolve any gaps or disputed periods.

Section 6(2)(a) leaves sufficiency to the Minister on Cabinet’s advice. It does not publish a universal purchase-price threshold; an overseas bank balance alone is not ownership of assets in the Federation.

What This Route Allows
The route permits an application for permanent residence after both the residence and asset requirements are met.
What This Route Is Not
Seven years alone does not qualify, and an asset purchase does not guarantee approval. This is distinct from the retirement provision and from citizenship by investment.
Next Steps
Request confirmation of the residence history and the evidence needed for the asset review before commissioning valuations or making an investment for immigration purposes.
