Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

You need a job with a private-sector employer that can sponsor you. The employer must sign the residence application and arrange work approval from the Public Authority for Manpower.

The official residence service is called Article 18. It covers first applications, renewals, cancellation, and certain transfers. Your employer must coordinate the work and entry approvals and the residence application, including required medical, insurance, and identity records.

Ask who will submit each application and which approvals you need before traveling or starting work. Keep your contract and permits, and check that the approved occupation matches the job.

Moving to Kuwait for a private-sector job
  1. Confirm the job and sponsor Check that the employer can sponsor you under the private-sector rules.
  2. Prepare your documents Agree on the contract and gather qualification, identity, medical, and insurance records.
  3. Complete the permit applications Have the employer arrange work and entry approvals, then residence.
  4. Check the approved job Confirm the employer, occupation, expiry dates, and renewal rules before starting work.

A job offer alone is not a work or residence permit. Family members need separate approval.

What This Route Allows

Once you have the required approvals, you can live in Kuwait and work in the approved job while your permits remain valid. Renewal depends on continued employment and meeting the rules. Changing employers or occupations may require a separate application. Family members need their own residence approval and any required work permission.

What This Route Is Not

This permit does not let you search for any job, work remotely without restrictions, or qualify as an investor. Government jobs and domestic work use separate categories. Your work permit does not automatically give a spouse or child residence.

Next Steps

  1. Ask the employer to confirm that the private-sector route covers the job and that it can sponsor you.
  2. Agree on the contract and gather the required qualification, identity, medical, and insurance records.
  3. Have the employer arrange work and entry approvals, then complete the residence application.
  4. Before starting work, check the employer, occupation, expiry dates, and renewal rules on the permits.
