Summary
Oman’s employment residence route lets a foreign worker live there for an approved local job. The employer requests the work visa and takes responsibility for the application. Royal Oman Police lists the passport, photograph, work permit, and medical examination among the required records. Entry approval and the subsequent residence formalities must both be completed.
Eligibility
You must be at least 21. Your employer normally needs a Ministry of Labour work permit, although government employers have a stated exception. The occupation and other worker details in the visa application must match the work approval. Any professional licensing requirements also apply.

What This Route Allows
With the required approvals, you can live in Oman and work in the approved job while your permits remain valid. Renewal depends on continued employment and meeting the rules. Changing employer or occupation may need a separate application. Family members need their own residence permission and any required work approval.
What This Route Is Not
This is separate from Oman's ten-year Golden Residency. It does not let you work independently for any client, and the job must match the occupation approved on your permit. Residence does not grant Omani citizenship.
