Summary
Oman’s Golden Residency program offers seven possible routes to long-term residence, with qualifying investment options starting at OMR 200,000. The exact evidence depends on whether the applicant uses property, a company, financial assets, a bank deposit, employment creation, or nomination.
Eligibility
The program lists seven options: property, a business, bonds, listed shares, a fixed bank deposit, major job creation, or a company nomination. A nomination means a company formally puts you forward under the program's rules.
For an investment option, you need at least OMR 200,000 in an accepted investment. Confirm which assets qualify and how long you must keep them.
The evidence depends on your option. You may need ownership records, a valuation, proof of where the money came from, company or employment records, or a nomination. Age, identity, and other investor-residence requirements also apply.
A quick check can suggest whether the program fits, but only the responsible authority can approve the application.
-
Check which option fits Compare the investment, job-creation, and company-nomination options.
-
Confirm the requirements Check the accepted investment, amount, ownership, valuation, and how long it must be kept.
-
Prepare and submit your application Gather the financial, company, employment, nomination, and personal records your option requires.
These are alternative ways to qualify. A ten-year permit still requires approval and continued compliance with its conditions.
What This Route Allows
If approved, you can live in Oman for ten years and apply to renew while you continue to qualify. The program can also support residence for qualifying family members and long-term business activity. You can use several financial or business options; buying property is not the only one.
What This Route Is Not
Any investment of the same value is not enough. You must meet the rules for your chosen option and keep meeting its conditions. Golden Residency does not directly give you Omani citizenship.
Next Steps

- Confirm the amount, accepted investment, and how long you must keep it.
