Summary

Qatar offers residence to qualifying entrepreneurs who have support from a recognized local business incubator—an organization that helps new businesses develop. Founders can apply from abroad or while already living in Qatar. The incubator must formally recommend you, and work approval is a separate step.

Overseas applicants complete entry, medical, fingerprint, and identity steps after residence approval. Both new arrivals and existing residents then need the Ministry of Labour’s separate special work permit. Nomination and residence approval do not complete that work authorization.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

A recognized Qatari business incubator must support your business and formally nominate you for the program. You must be at least 18. The documents depend on whether you are applying from abroad or already live in Qatar.

For an overseas application, prepare:

If you already live in Qatar, the process uses Qatari identity and business-establishment records and a published financial requirement of QAR 36,500. Follow the authentication instructions for the country that issued each document.

Ask the incubator what progress and ongoing participation it expects from your business. Consider what the organization offers your business as well as its role in the residence application.

Apply with a recognized business incubator's support
  1. Find an eligible incubator Ask whether a recognized business-support organization can recommend your business.
  2. Get its formal nomination Obtain the required support and nomination, then follow the invitation to apply.
  3. Submit your documents Use the financial and personal checklist for an overseas or existing-resident application.
  4. Complete residence, then work approval Finish entry and identity steps where required, then apply for the separate special work permit.

An incubator's recommendation does not guarantee residence or funding. Work approval is separate.

What This Route Allows

The program describes long-term residence with renewal available. Confirm the actual term in the approval. Overseas applicants complete entry, medical, fingerprint, and Qatari ID steps. Both new arrivals and existing residents then need to apply separately for the Ministry of Labour's special work permit. Residence approval alone does not give that permission.

What This Route Is Not

This is not a general digital-nomad visa, automatic residence for anyone who forms a company, or the separate executive program. The executive route requires existing Qatari residence and employer nomination. An incubator’s support does not guarantee the immigration decision or business funding.

Next Steps

  1. Contact a recognized incubator and ask whether it can support and recommend your business.
  2. Get the incubator's support and formal nomination, then follow the official invitation to apply.
  3. Submit the correct overseas or resident financial and personal records.
  4. Complete the residence and identity procedures, then apply for the separate special work permit.
