Saudi Business Investor Residence

Saudi Arabia Residency
Pathway overview

At a glance

A personal investment share of at least SAR 7 million in a qualifying licensed Saudi business may lead to permanent Premium Residency if approved. At least ten employees must count toward that share, and both minimums must be maintained for the first two years.

Investment type
A qualifying share in a licensed Saudi business
Jobs
At least ten employees counted toward your investment share; maintain this for the first two years

Summary

Investors in a qualifying Saudi business can seek permanent Premium Residency based on their own investment share and the jobs counted against it. Evidence includes the Saudi investment license, ownership records, source of funds, and the program's employee calculation, rather than the company's overall value alone.

The investment and employee minimums must remain satisfied during the first two years. Property purchases and startup funding use separate categories with different rules.

Eligibility

You need:

You must maintain both the minimum investment and the required employee count during the first two years. Ask how the program counts employees against your ownership share. Officials must approve the application; a quick check cannot guarantee the outcome.

Check your investment share and the jobs it supports
  1. Document your business investment Show your personal share of at least SAR 7 million and the required investment license.
  2. Document the required employees Show at least ten employees counted toward your investment share under the rules.
  3. Maintain both minimums Keep the required investment and employee count for the first two years.

This option is for an operating-business investment. Property ownership and startup funding have separate rules.

What This Route Allows

If approved under the business-investor rules, you receive permanent Premium Residency subject to its conditions. Qualifying family members may join you. The program provides the economic rights set out in its regulations and generally lets you enter and leave Saudi Arabia without an ordinary employer-sponsored residence arrangement.

What This Route Is Not

This option requires investment in an operating business. Buying property or using the separate startup-funding route has different requirements. Premium Residency does not give Saudi citizenship or guarantee a later citizenship grant. You must continue to meet the conditions of the option you use.

Next Steps

  1. Confirm that your own investment share and the jobs counted toward it meet the rules.
  2. Gather the investment license, ownership, employee, and funding records.
  3. Prepare the general identity, background, medical, and financial documents.
  4. Apply through the Premium Residency Center. Keep evidence that both the investment and employee minimums are maintained during the first two years.
