Venezuela Investor Visa
At a glance
Venezuela’s investor visa is for investors or company representatives with an accepted investment. You need an official investor certificate before applying at the consulate.
- Who can apply
- An investor or company representative with an investment accepted by the authorities
- Investor certificate
- An official Certificado de Inversionista is required; a proposal or purchase receipt is insufficient
- Personal records
- Passport valid for at least six months, photographs, medical certificate, and any required authenticated records
Summary
Venezuela’s investor visa supports an accepted investment activity documented by the official investor certificate issued through the foreign-trade system. The ministry does not present this as an automatic visa for buying a home or meeting a single advertised price.
The visa can last three years. Buying a home or reaching an advertised investment amount does not by itself meet the certificate requirement.
-
Document your investment Show the investment contacts and the relevant authorities’ acceptance.
-
Obtain the investor certificate Use the foreign-trade service to arrange the required certificate.
-
Apply at the consulate Submit the certificate and required personal documents.
A proposal, property purchase, or receipt alone does not replace the investor certificate.
Eligibility
You must be an investor or company representative and provide documents showing your investment contacts and the authorities’ acceptance of the investment.
The consular application requires a Certificado de Inversionista, or investor certificate. It is processed through the Ventanilla Única de Comercio Exterior, Venezuela’s central service for foreign-trade procedures. An investment proposal or purchase receipt does not replace this certificate.
The ministry’s checklist also requires a passport valid for at least six months, photographs, a medical certificate, and payment of the consular fee. Check with the Venezuelan consulate handling your application about document authentication, any additional records, and how to apply.
What This Route Allows
If approved, you can enter and stay for the investment activity covered by the visa. The visa lasts three years and allows multiple entries; the published guidance does not state a shorter limit for each visit.
What This Route Is Not
This is not citizenship through investment or a general work permit. Approval of the visa does not guarantee how an investment will perform.
Next Steps
- Confirm the investment and certification requirements with the relevant investment authority.
- Obtain the investor certificate through the foreign-trade service.
- Ask the consulate for its application procedure and any additional documents.
- Submit the certificate with your personal records and visa application.
