Applying for permanent residence through Vietnamese family
  1. Confirm the family connection and sponsor’s residence Check that the citizen permanently lives in Vietnam and will provide the guarantee.
  2. Document residence and support Gather four years of travel history, housing, income, and personal records.
  3. Apply for permanent residence Submit the required evidence to the responsible immigration authority.

A temporary family visa is different from approval for permanent residence.

What This Route Allows

If approved, permanent residence lets you live in Vietnam indefinitely under the relevant rules and use a permanent residence card.

What This Route Is Not

Marriage, a TT family visa, or a temporary residence card does not automatically qualify you. More distant relatives do not fit this listed family category, and meeting the residence period does not guarantee approval.
