Summary

Citizens of Belize, Dominica, or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can live and work in Barbados indefinitely under CARICOM full free movement. Entry checks and local registration still apply. A job offer, approved skills category, and CARICOM Skills Certificate are not required. Qualifying family members need relationship evidence and their own entry documentation; this check evaluates the principal citizen’s route.

You can move before finding a job. Plan how you will cover your living costs while looking for work, and ask Immigration to record your right to stay.

Eligibility

The main applicant must hold citizenship of one of the three countries above. Living in one of those countries, holding its residence permit, or having a parent or spouse from there does not establish your own citizenship. The arrangement is not limited to graduates or particular occupations, and it has no minimum age.

Prepare a valid passport proving the qualifying citizenship. Ask Barbados Immigration how to have your indefinite-stay entitlement recorded and which registration and supporting records apply to your circumstances. People already living in Barbados should also have their position recorded under the arrangement rather than assuming their previous immigration record has changed automatically.

Admission remains subject to safeguards. Authorities may refuse entry or remove someone on the specified serious public-safety, public-order, public-morals, or public-health grounds, or because they are likely to become a charge on public funds. The full-movement guidance does not set a fixed salary or pension threshold; plan how work, savings, continuing income, or family support will cover your household.

Citizenship comes first
  1. Qualifying citizenship Belize, Dominica, or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
  2. Prepare the move Gather passport and household support records.
  3. Record your status Confirm arrival and local registration requirements.

Professional and business approvals may still be needed for regulated activities.

What This Route Allows

An admitted qualifying citizen may reside indefinitely, take employment, or pursue lawful business activity without the ordinary work-permit process. Professional licensing and business registration still need separate attention.

Qualifying family members may accompany the eligible citizen. Confirm the relevant relationship and dependency rules, entry documents, and registration for each person. The arrangement includes emergency and primary healthcare and public primary and secondary education within the receiving country's means; it does not promise every benefit or service without enrollment or eligibility checks.

What This Route Is Not

It does not grant Barbadian citizenship or an ordinary permanent-residence permit. A successful pathway check does not decide admission at the border or a relative's separate position.

Citizens of other participating CSME states should examine the skilled-national route. Do not pay for a Skills Certificate solely for this move if your own citizenship already brings you within the full-movement arrangement.

Next Steps

  1. Check the passport and citizenship evidence for the main applicant.
  2. Confirm arrival, status-recording, and registration requirements with Barbados Immigration before booking.
  3. Prepare household support evidence and any relationship, school, or medical records needed for the move.
  4. Complete local registration and obtain any professional or business approvals before starting regulated activities.
