Czechia Digital Nomad Visa Route

Summary

Czechia's Digital Nomad Program is a two-step immigration route for specified highly qualified IT and marketing professionals. The Ministry of Industry and Trade first decides whether to include the applicant in the program. An accepted applicant then files the appropriate long-term visa application: an employee of a foreign employer uses the visa for other purposes, while a freelancer uses the business or self-employment visa.

Eligibility

This pathway may fit when the following route-specific requirements are met:

• Citizenship of Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
• Highly skilled IT or marketing work as either a remote employee of a foreign employer or a freelancer using the required Czech trade structure.
• For IT work, relevant higher professional or university STEM education or at least 3 years of documented IT experience.
• For marketing work, at least 3 years of higher professional or university education in marketing, advertising, economics, business, management, or information technology.
• Remuneration or contracted services worth at least 1.5 times the Czech average gross annual salary announced for the program.
• For an employee, a foreign employer with at least 50 employees worldwide and a contract or declaration permitting remote work.
• For a freelancer, the required Czech trade registration and an IT or marketing services contract or commitment.
• No current Czech long-term visa or residence permit and none held during the preceding year.

What This Route Allows

Program inclusion provides confirmation and a recommendation that serves as proof of the purpose of stay, an opportunity to submit the long-term visa or residence application at a Czech embassy or consulate, and a 45-day processing target for a complete application. A spouse, registered partner, and qualifying child can apply at the same time under the applicable family, study, or other-purpose category.

What This Route Is Not

The program is not itself a visa or residence permit. It is not open to every nationality or remote profession, there is no legal entitlement to program inclusion, and inclusion does not guarantee approval of the later visa application.

2. Match the work to the employee or freelancer definition and the IT or marketing qualification rule.
3. Prepare the employer-size, remote-work, education or experience, contract, income, and trade-registration evidence that applies.
4. Apply to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for program inclusion.
5. After inclusion, attend the assigned embassy appointment and file the complete long-term visa application with all documents required by immigration law.
