Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older for the adult application covered here. Ask Immigration about the separate arrangements for a younger applicant.

Confirm business registration, permission for the activity, and any rules on hiring foreign workers with the business and labor authorities. The Permit B checklist asks for your passport, identity and immigration-status records, evidence from your embassy, and a payroll-tax record from the Gambia Revenue Authority.

If you are from outside the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), you also need the foreign-resident identity document called an alien card.

Applying to live in The Gambia through a business
  1. Check the business and your personal role Confirm registrations, activity permissions, and any foreign-worker hiring rules.
  2. Prepare the Permit B records Gather personal, embassy, payroll-tax, and any additional identity-card documents.
  3. Apply and follow the approved conditions Keep business, work, and residence permissions current.

Permit B is a separate requirement from simply registering or owning a company.

What This Route Allows

If approved, you can live in The Gambia for the accepted business activity and permit period. Keep any separate work or professional permission valid, and meet the business’s labor and tax obligations.

What This Route Is Not

Company registration, shares without a qualifying active role, or a property purchase alone does not grant residence. This route does not grant citizenship or promise permanent residence.

Next Steps

  1. Confirm that the business activity, foreign ownership, and your role are allowed.
  2. Complete the business and personal activity approvals and confirm any foreign-worker hiring rules.
  3. Prepare the Permit B documents, including payroll-tax evidence and the additional identity card if required.
  4. Apply for the permit and keep the records and approvals current for renewal.
