Indonesia Employer-Sponsored Residence

Indonesia Residency
Pathway overview

At a glance

An Indonesian employer can support work and temporary residence for an approved job. The company’s labor approval and your visa and stay permit must match your actual role.

Yes, for a role the employer can sponsor
Employer approval
The required foreign-worker plan and labor documents
Visa category
Depends on the occupation and assignment

Summary

Indonesia’s employer-sponsored work residence lets a foreign employee stay for an approved job. The employer’s labor approval and immigration permission must describe the same work. The exact visa index depends on the occupation and assignment; E23 is a work category, not a substitute for checking the particular role.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

You need an actual job, an employer that can sponsor you, and qualifications suited to the approved position.

Where required, the employer must obtain approval for its foreign-worker plan, called an RPTKA. Immigration separately reviews the work visa and ITAS, the Indonesian name for a limited stay permit.

Taking an employer-sponsored job in Indonesia
  1. Confirm the job category Match the role, qualifications, and employer’s labor approval.
  2. Prepare the visa and stay application Gather sponsorship, labor, passport, and personal records.
  3. Complete approvals before working Follow the ITAS, reporting, work, and renewal conditions.

A work visa and labor approval must cover the same actual employment.

What This Route Allows

Once the required approvals are in place, you can do the specified work and stay for the dates shown on your documents. Ask the employer to explain local reporting and renewal requirements.

What This Route Is Not

This does not let you take any job or freelance for unrelated clients. A visitor visa, overseas remote-worker visa, or ownership of a company does not automatically authorize this employment.

Check what new approval is needed before changing employers or duties.

Next Steps

  1. Ask the employer to confirm the job, its labor approval, and the exact current visa category.
  2. Prepare the employer’s sponsorship and labor documents, your passport, and the other required personal records.
  3. Complete the visa, ITAS, and required reporting steps before relying on permission to work. Follow the approved job conditions and renewal dates.
