Summary

An eligible spouse can accompany a person with qualifying Namibian work, investor, or student permission by documenting the marriage and the main applicant’s status. That principal permission must be held or approved with the family case. Citizen-spouse claims and digital-nomad family applications follow other processes.

Could this pathway work for you?

Eligibility

Your spouse must hold the qualifying permit or obtain it as part of the family application. Document the marriage and meet the accompanying-family requirements for financial support and personal records.

Confirm which housing and other documents are required, and apply for your own temporary residence. Your spouse's permit does not automatically cover you.

Accompanying your spouse to Namibia
  1. Check your spouse’s permit Confirm that their employment, investor, or student status qualifies.
  2. Prepare the family records Document the marriage and required support.
  3. Apply for your own permission Follow your approved dates and activity conditions.

This is separate from the citizen-spouse and digital-nomad family processes.

What This Route Allows

If approved, you can stay in Namibia as an accompanying spouse for the period and under the conditions granted. Check the expiry date on your own permission.

What This Route Is Not

This is separate from the process for a Namibian citizen's spouse and from the Digital Nomad Visa's family arrangements. Marriage alone does not give you residence or citizenship. Children and other relatives have different requirements, and planned work or business needs a separate check.

Next Steps

  1. Confirm your marriage and the employment, investor, or student permit your spouse holds or is seeking.
  2. Gather relationship, support, housing, and personal records for the accompanying-family application.
  3. Apply for your own permission and follow its work and renewal conditions.
