Summary

Startup founders with accepted funding can seek Saudi entrepreneur Premium Residency through one of two categories with different ownership and job-creation conditions. The category determines whether the application is for renewable five-year residence or permanent residence subject to the applicable conditions.

Founders need to document the startup, their ownership, and accepted funding, including the accredited funding organization's recommendation. Category 2 also requires jobs at specified stages. The application remains subject to approval and the general Premium Residency requirements; it does not grant citizenship.

Eligibility

You need qualifying investment and a recommendation letter from an accredited funding organization. You must keep the required share of the business:

What This Route Allows

Category 1 offers renewable five-year residence. Category 2 offers permanent residence subject to its conditions, including job creation. Qualifying family members may join you, and the program provides the economic rights set out in its regulations. You can generally enter and leave Saudi Arabia without an ordinary employer-sponsored residence arrangement.

What This Route Is Not

Premium Residency does not give you Saudi citizenship or guarantee a later citizenship grant. The two entrepreneur categories have different requirements. Other Premium Residency options also have their own rights, terms, and ongoing conditions.
