Eligibility

You need admission to an eligible degree program and the institution’s supporting documents. Follow the responsible Thai embassy or consulate’s checklist for your passport, funding, course, and other records.

Confirm that the course qualifies specifically for ED Plus; its benefits do not apply to every education visa.

Studying in Thailand with ED Plus
  1. Confirm ED Plus eligibility Check the institution, degree, and responsible mission’s requirements.
  2. Complete the study application Use the university’s documents and follow entry and stay-extension instructions.
  3. Plan permission after graduation Apply for any eligible extra year or work status before current permission ends.

The graduate extension requires an application and does not itself authorize paid employment.

What This Route Allows

ED Plus supports the approved studies and provides an exemption from the re-entry-permit requirement during study.

A qualifying graduate can apply for the additional one-year stay. If you meet the employment requirements, you may be able to change to the appropriate work status without leaving Thailand.

What This Route Is Not

The graduate year is not automatic and is not an open work permit. Paid employment still needs the correct immigration status and work authorization.
