Summary
Kenya's Class K residence is for people who can support life in Kenya through accepted income without taking a local job or running a business under this permit. Applicants must be at least thirty-five and document at least USD $24,000 annually from accepted sources, including how those funds will be available for living costs in Kenya.
The application includes an undertaking not to take paid or unpaid employment without prior written approval. Any business or remote-work plan therefore needs checking separately. Buying a home cannot substitute for the income requirement.
Eligibility
You must show that you are at least 35 and that your income meets the amount and source requirements. Provide evidence of how the money will be transferred or made available to support you in Kenya.

What This Route Is Not
Class K is not a work or business permit. Buying a home does not by itself meet the requirements, and this route does not grant citizenship.
Next Steps
- Confirm that your age, income sources, and plans fit Class K.
- Gather identity, financial, funds-transfer, and residence documents.
