Summary
A spouse or qualifying dependent child may be able to join a foreign employee in Kazakhstan through the C3 family visa process. The employee’s employer and the responsible authority need to confirm the family invitation and application requirements.
Although this uses the same C3 code as the worker’s visa, a family visa does not itself authorize a job.
Eligibility
You need a recognized spouse or qualifying dependent-child relationship and official records proving it. Ask the employer and authority to confirm whether a child qualifies; do not assume one age rule applies to every case.
The employee must hold the required status, and you must provide the family invitation or sponsorship documents and personal records on the current checklist. Follow any translation and authentication instructions for family documents.
-
Confirm the family process with the employer Check the worker’s status and whether your relationship qualifies.
-
Prepare the invitation and family records Follow the current document and authentication requirements.
-
Apply and maintain your permission Complete local formalities and check work permission separately.
Family permission depends on the approved application and the employee’s continuing status.
What This Route Allows
Approved permission lets you accompany or join the employee for the period granted. The length depends on the sponsor’s status and supporting documents.
Keep track of both permissions. If the employee’s job or immigration permission ends, you will need to address your own right to stay as well.
What This Route Is Not
The maximum periods advertised for a worker’s C3 visa do not guarantee the same period for every family member. Family C3 permission also does not authorize employment; you need an independent legal basis to work or an applicable exemption.
This is separate from C2 family categories for relatives of citizens and other qualifying residents. Permanent residence has its own requirements.
Next Steps
- Ask the employee’s employer to confirm the correct family process and your qualifying relationship.
- Prepare the invitation or sponsorship documents, official family records, and personal application documents.
- Apply for the family visa, complete local formalities, and check a separate work option if you plan to take a job.
