Summary
Kazakhstan’s B12-1 Neo Nomad Visa lets eligible people with stable foreign income apply for a temporary stay while working remotely. You must show income of more than USD $3,000 a month; savings alone do not meet that test.
The visa can allow multiple entries for up to one year. Official guidance also provides for an application to extend the stay for a further year.
Eligibility
Prepare six months of bank statements showing the required monthly income, along with the required tax declaration, criminal-record certificate, and medical insurance.
The income threshold is strictly above USD $3,000 a month. A balance in a savings account is different from evidence of regular foreign income.
Invitation requirements depend on your passport. A country’s appearance on an invitation-waiver list only tells you about the invitation requirement; it is not a complete list of nationalities eligible for the visa.
-
Check income and passport-specific requirements Confirm the income threshold, six months of statements, and any invitation.
-
Apply with the required supporting records Include tax, criminal-record, insurance, and personal documents.
-
Follow the approved stay and extension rules Make separate family and extension applications where needed.
Approval is not automatic, and the visa does not authorize local employment.
What This Route Allows
The approved multiple-entry visa permits a temporary stay under the Neo Nomad conditions for the period granted. Apply separately if you want the available one-year extension.
A spouse and dependent children may apply to accompany you. Each needs the required application and documents and must follow the restrictions on permitted activities.
What This Route Is Not
This visa does not allow local employment in Kazakhstan, grant a tax exemption, or provide permanent residence. Family permission does not automatically give work rights.
It is different from the B9-1 Digital Nomad Visa for IT specialists pursuing a separate permanent-residence process.
Next Steps
- Check that your foreign income exceeds the monthly threshold and that six months of statements show it.
- Confirm the invitation rules for your passport and prepare the tax, criminal-record, insurance, and personal documents.
- Apply through the responsible authority, arrange any separate family applications, and check extension requirements before your approved stay ends.
