Eswatini Business Residence
At a glance
If you plan to run a business in Eswatini, you can apply under the business-person category of temporary residence. You need company and personal records, plus the licenses and other permissions required for the actual business activity.
- Business permission
- Meet the licensing, foreign-ownership, and work-permission rules for your activity and role
- Company records
- Incorporation records, company forms, a premises lease, and a letter explaining the business
- Personal records
- Passport, photos, medical certificate, and original home-country police clearance; required copies must be certified
Summary
Eswatini’s business-person category lets an eligible owner or operator live there temporarily for an accepted business role. Company records, premises evidence, and an explanation of the business support the application. Incorporation does not replace approval for the actual activity. The individual still needs residence permission in the correct business category.
Eligibility
The business-person category appears in Part II of the temporary-residence process. Prepare the company's memorandum and incorporation records, the required company forms, a lease for its premises, and the business application letter.
Confirm current licensing and foreign-owner rules. Complete Form 3 and provide your passport, photos, medical certificate, and original police clearance from your home country. Have required copies officially certified.
Before operating, confirm the permit term, fees, and any separate work, industry, or professional permission your role needs.

What This Route Allows
If approved, you can live in Eswatini for the business activity and period granted. Keep any separate work or professional approval required for your role.
What This Route Is Not
Registering a company, holding shares without running the business, or buying property alone does not grant residence. This is not citizenship by investment and does not guarantee permanent residence.
Next Steps
- Confirm that foreign ownership, the business activity, and your role are allowed.
- Gather company, premises, licensing, and personal records and complete Form 3.
- Obtain the required business and residence approvals before operating, and keep the supporting records current.
